Sega Body Trainer will come as ITAMI Fitrainer to U.S.

Imagine you have a little dwarf sitting in your ear that tells you what to do. Well, this is kind of what the ITAMI FiTrainer is. Earlier this year Sega announced the Sega Body Trainer gadget in Japan. Now ITAMI USA informed us that they will market and sell the Sega Body Trainer under the ITAMI brand and the new fitness gadget is called Fitrainer in the United States.
The virtual electronic body trainer in the shape of a headset tells you exactly how you should exercise to achieve maximum results.

FiTrainer uses the Karvonen Method to determine your ideal “Training Heart Rate” (THR), a system that was developed in association with the IPA and recommended by the American College of Sports Medicine. Three exercise modes tailored for walking, jogging and aerobics. Varied workout levels test your physical condition.

Connect your MP3 player and listen to your favorite music during your routine. Easy to use; after you input your age and exercise mode, simply place the headset between your ears and attach the Heart Rate Sensor to your earlobe. Press the START button to begin the warm-up exercise. Follow the narration from the speaker and move accordingly to the rhythmic beat and music. Try to stay within your Ideal Heart Rate Zone during the workout. When the routine is over, follow the warm down sequence.

Details on pricing and shipping dates are supposed to come soon. You can find out more about FiTrainer on the ITAMI site.

Shipping Box Doll is Toy top Seller in Japan

I was researching on what the hottest toys are around the world based on Amazon top seller lists. In Japan I stumbled over an Amazon Shipping Box Doll that is leading the Toy Bestseller List. You read correct the bestselling toy in Japan is a 80mm mascot that looks it is made from the Amazon shipping boxes.
Apparently the Amazon shipping box doll originates from an anime book.

There are several versions of the Amazon.co.jp Box man available. They differ in size and design. One of them reveals an actual anime character inside, which I guess is how this whole thing started.
The mi
ni Amazon Shipping Box doll sells for 1,000 yen (~$10) and will actually start shipping in December.

As long as Amazon can even sell empty shipping boxes the company will continue to walk the path of success.

The most important Kindle Accessory

Sometimes when we look at the Amazon Electronics bestseller list we see a harmless looking book light on the number two spot (right now it just disappeared again). The top spot has been reserved for the Amazon Kindle for a very long time.

Apparently the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light is the most bought Kindle accessory. Kindle does not have a backlit screen, but paper books do not have one either. I never use a book light for reading, but Kindle owners do. I guess most Kindle owners read in bed with their partner sleeping next to them.

If you need a light for the Kindle than the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light is the one to go with as it has a flexible neck to adjust the angle the light hits the screen for avoiding glare.

Philips goLITE BLU Gadget reliefs Winter Blues

Royal Philips E
lectronics introduced a new mood uplifting gadget. The Philips goLITE BLU is supposed to be a natural, convenient way to offer quick relief from seasonal mood-related problems.

With the end of Daylight Saving time many Americans are affected by the increased darkness and experience what is known as the winter blues. Symptoms of the winter blues may include lethargy, lowered mood, problems sleeping, carbohydrate cravings and weight gain.

The Philips goLITE BLU is a new therapy light designed as a safe, simple and effective solution to help beat the winter blues. In scientific research, light therapy has been shown to improve mood and energy by regulating our internal body clock or circadian rhythms – the body’s 24-hour cycle of activity and sleep related to light.

Light therapy is a natural way of beating the winter blues without the use of drugs or artificial stimulants. Results can be felt within a few days with as little 15 to 20 minutes of use per day.

The Philips goLITE BLU measures 5.3” x 5.5” and weighs only 12 ounces, is equipped with a built-in clock and timer, rechargeable battery and protective storage case for convenient transport from home to office or while traveling.

Tiny i-Sobot Humanoid Robot

The i-Sobot humanoid robot is still the world's smallest humanoid robot in production according to the Guinness Book of World Records. i-Sobot already danced onto the scene in 2007. A year ago Amazon sold the little robot for $300. Now gadget shop Hammacher and Schlemmer is selling the i-Sobot for only $99.99.

This a pretty low price for the high tech toy you are getting with the i-Sobot. Additionally Amazon still charges $179.99 for the i-Sobot robot.
The i-Sobot robot has 180 preprogrammed individual movements, responds to verbal commands, and performs up to 240 movements in sequence, allowing you to design countless routines, such as programming the device to say "hello," introduce himself, play an air guitar, bow to his audience, and say "good-night."
Using the included action chart as a guide, simply enter the alphanumeric codes into the remote control and the little droid reacts in earnest with acrobatics, verbal phrases, and greetings, or you can control the robot's movements manually using the dual joysticks and trigger buttons on the remote.

In voice recognition mode, the robot moves in response to 10 verbal prompts such as "Go forward" or "Back up," and acknowledges questions like "How are you?" with appropriate retorts.
The robot is controlled by 17 customized servomotors with built-in clutches; a gyro-sensor ensures optimal balance and the 17 points of articulation in the neck, arms, hands, legs, and feet allow human-like movement.
